Old Age Security (OAS) — Canada-wide
- Age: 65+. Residency: 10 years in Canada since 18 (20 if abroad).
- Maximum, Oct–Dec 2026: 65–74 $762.50/mo; 75+ $838.75/mo (permanently +10% since Jul 2022).
- Taxable. Recovery tax above 2025 net world income $93,454. Indexed quarterly (up only).
- Apply: usually automatic after 64th birthday; else My Service Canada Account.
- Appeal: reconsideration within 90 days (form ISP-3134) → Social Security Tribunal of Canada.

Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) — Canada-wide
- Tax-free top-up; you must receive OAS.
- Maximum, Oct–Dec 2026: single/widowed/divorced $1,138.90/mo; spouse gets full OAS or Allowance $685.56/mo; spouse gets no OAS/Allowance $1,138.90/mo.
- File taxes every year or GIS stops/drops.

The Allowance — Canada-wide
- Ages 60–64, low income, spouse receives GIS.
- Maximum, Oct–Dec 2026: up to $1,428.06/mo (spouse receives GIS and full OAS).
- Apply 6–11 months before turning 60.

CPP Disability — for under 65
- Over 18 and under 65, severe/prolonged disability preventing substantially all work.
- Maximum (2026): $1,741.20/mo; average (Jul 2026) $1,236.32.
- Appeal: reconsideration (form ISP-1145) → SST General Division within 90 days.
- Converts to CPP retirement pension at 65.

GAINS — Ontario top-up
- Age 65+, Ontario resident, receiving OAS and GIS, private income ≤ $4,416 (single) / ≤ $8,832 (couple).
- Maximum 2026 benefit year (Jul 1 2026–Jun 30 2027): up to $92/mo (single) / $184/mo (couple). Non-taxable.
- Automatic if OAS+GIS; file taxes yearly.
- Appeal: Notice of Objection within 90 days to Ontario Ministry of Finance (1-866-668-8297).
