If you have a WSIB appeal or WSIAT hearing scheduled — listen up.
Since May 22, 2025, over 4,000 WSIB employees have been on strike. The WSIB has suspended all appeals processes for the duration of the labour disruption. If you’re waiting on a hearing, a reconsideration decision, or a claim update, you are not alone — and you are not missing anything.
What’s Actually Paused
- WSIAT hearings — postponed pending claim file updates from WSIB
- WSIB Reconsiderations — suspended
- New hearing dates — not yet scheduled; WSIB will contact you
- Routine claim processing — operating at minimal capacity
What’s Still Moving
- Urgent medical reports — still being processed
- Immediate benefit payments — continuing (CPP-D, disability payments, etc.)
- Online services — My Benefits portal, eForms, etc.
What You Should Do Right Now
- Document everything in your Evidence Locker — scan every letter, every deadline notice, every email.
